Happy [official] Halloween!

I can totally see why people opt for drinking pomegranate juice versus eating an actual one... very messy and time-consuming, not to mention the fact I almost choked on a seed while on the phone with my sister... anywhoo they're very pretty :)

Here are some pics of our current table arrangement:
pomegranates and osage oranges (from our neighbor's yard)

(The lighting was kind of weird when I took these so the colors are off)

Trip to Mad-city

We took a fun trip to Madison last weekend to visit some friends and see Ingrid Michaelson! She is probably one of the best performers I've ever seen (both vocally and personality-wise). I think she sounds better live than she does is her CDs... and she is so funny in a quirky-kind of way! After the concert, my sister, her friend, and I went on her tour bus (ok on the stairs of it...) and got her autograph! And she was in her pajamas haha! She's got one of those great, confident, laid-back personalities.
Arty shots of the Capitol Theater:

Our friends' beautiful house... you feel like you're in the treetops!

My sister before we left! I hadn't seen her since August :(

(and spy one of our home-grown pumpkins to the left!)

Here's a link to a really great cover of Nightswimming she did at our concert! She has such a beautiful voice:

Happy Halloween :O

Here are some fun pumpkin pics from last year's Halloween!

City Escape in the "Tree-tops"

Oh and check out another great post from Desire to Inspire right here. Some of these look like they should be inhabited by a hobbit!

Falling for Autumn

Here are some pics I took as a last hurrah for summer...

And sad story - I think the garden's last tomato got picked yesterday. As one growing season ends, another one starts: squash!!! I absolutely love any squash, butternut, acorn, spaghetti, you name it! Oh, even pumpkins, although I'm still partial to the other ones... pumpkins just don't seem to have the same, rich flavor.

Although can I say just how excited I am for fall! I love the vibrant autumn hues, fall fashion, cooler temps., apples (my favorite food in the entire world... well one at least ;), caramel apples for that matter, pumpkins, TV seasons starting (like Glee & Modern Family!), tights, Starbuck's Pumpkin Spice Lattes & their new Toffee Mochas... mmm (although I'm a bit anti-Starbucks except when I have a gift card),
