Pick a Card, Any Card

I love seeing everyday objects used in unusual ways. Blowing up and framing playing cards is such an easy, yet effective way to spruce up a bare wall.

Which suit would you use?

I really liked the covers on these books from a nearby consignment shop.
Simple and chic, plus some gold stamping!

Winter Farm Adventures

Don't these hay bales look like giant frosted mini-wheats?

(the ice skating rink)

p.s. here are a few videos of sledding wipeouts down one of the big hills ;)

(the hill was huge... the camera was only halfway down the slope!)

Infinity Scarves!

I have had a bit of a mad obsession with chunky knit infinity scarves for the longest time and was jumping for joy when I got one from "Santa" for Christmas! So here's a little gallery of some that I found...

Not loving the outfit but I like the scarf!

My sister and me!

p.s. I know I didn't put up any of myself wearing one.. I have yet to snap a pic!

Check out this great article from National Geographic about the Gulf's oil spill last year.
I think that scientists working on the spill's management and containment should try to use biomanipulation (learning about ecology in Biology right now ;).

Also take a look at Apple stock.. it's rising splendidly, so I hope you have some :)

Cozy and Chic

Came across this outfit on NYMag's blog The Cut and loved it!

Fondue: origin Fr.; feminine past participle of "fondre-to melt"

There is a cozy cafe near my house that serves chocolate fondue! mmm... so needless to say, my mom and I had to make a stop there a few days ago. It is a "sister" of a delicious chocolate shop next door, so the fondue is amazing!

They give you a little handmade slip where you check off the foods you want to dip... and we chose strawberries, pretzels, pound cake, ginger cookies, and bananas.

Fin!

Natal Day, Nosh, and New Years

I'm back! I apologize for my lack of recent posts... I have not had access to a computer for nearly a week! But forgive me... I come back bearing many gifts (ehh ...well more like pictures)

First off: HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TIKKIT!!!

TikkiT had its first birthday on the 27th!

I also enjoyed a great breakfast at Nosh! It has a great eclectic vibe with DE-licious food! I have yet to eat a bad meal.

For starters, I sipped some delicious chai tea...
I loved the presentation and the tea's packaging... it came in a pyramid-shaped silk screen with a bendable leafed top!

I also really liked the booth fabric...

I kind of forgot to take a picture of the actual food... I was a bit too famished, but I devoured steel-cut oatmeal plus golden raisins, walnuts, and brown sugar with a great caramelized layer on top! Mmm...

Also... HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2011!
(image via Martha Stewart Living)

Now the big question is what to call this year? "Two thousand eleven"? "Twenty eleven"?

I definitely am considering a wide variety of New Year's Resolution options... (to be continued)

But every year we go to this outrageous New Years costume party, where everyone dresses up as someone/thing that was a hot topic in the news the last year.

... so logically I came as Snooki from Jersey Shore (*please note that I am keeping my pride by adding that I have never seen the show before)
(here I am with my uncle... aka Keith Richards)
(and Lady Gaga, TSwift, and [my sister] iPhone 4)

Please acknowledge the Lady Gaga masterpiece! Her meat dress was absolutely stellar!

I found this adorably chic (& stylish) cake when I was hunting for a good birthday picture...

If you're lucky I might post some Christmas shots too ;)
